Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Warehouse Personnel Direct Report: Warehouse Supervisor Position Overview Shipping & Receiving Warehouse Personnel support the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse. This role is responsible for receiving, storing, staging, and shipping products in accordance with food safety, SQF (Safe Quality Food) requirements, GMPs, and regulatory standards. This position plays a critical role in protecting product integrity, labeling accuracy, and traceability, while supporting smooth warehouse operations and audit readiness. Key Responsibilities Shipping & Receiving Operations Loading & Unloading: Safely load and unload trailers and route trucks, ensuring products are handled to prevent damage, contamination, or loss of traceability. Receiving Inventory: Inspect incoming ingredients, packaging, and finished goods to verify correct product identity, quantities, condition, and lot codes, reporting discrepancies immediately. Documentation & Paperwork: Review receiving and shipping paperwork for accuracy, ensuring Bills of Lading (BOLs) are signed, countersigned, and match shipment contents. Order Building: Use warehouse equipment and NetSuite to build and stage orders accurately, ensuring correct product, lot, and quantity. Inventory Management: Follow FIFO/FEFO practices to maintain product freshness, quality, and food safety; update inventory records accurately. Material Handling: Transport materials safely within the facility, maintaining proper storage locations, segregation, and product identification. Inspect Shipments: Inspect outbound trailers to ensure correct documentation, load condition, and compliance with shipping and food safety requirements. Warehouse Organization, GMP & Food Safety Compliance Product Organization: Consolidate partial pallets with matching lot numbers and stage completed pallets in designated areas to maintain traceability. Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment that supports GMP, SQF housekeeping, and pest prevention requirements. Compliance & Regulations: Follow all company policies, food safety rules, SQF requirements, and GMP standards while working in warehouse areas. Immediately report damaged product, torn packaging, missing labels, temperature abuse, or other conditions that may impact food safety or quality. Support the implementation of the site Food Defense Plan by monitoring for suspicious behavior, unauthorized access, or tampering risks within production and storage areas. Verify adherence to food defense controls such as restricted access, visitor procedures, and material security during routine FSQA activities. Immediately report food defense concerns, security breaches, or suspicious activity to FSQA leadership for investigation and corrective action Team Collaboration & Communication Communication: Work collaboratively with warehouse, production, FSQA, and shipping teams to support efficient, compliant operations. Problem‑Solving: Apply critical thinking to resolve shipping, receiving, or inventory challenges while escalating food safety or compliance concerns appropriately. Support SQF audits, customer audits, traceability exercises, and mock recalls by providing accurate information and documentation when requested. Qualifications Required Experience, Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail related to lot control, labeling, and documentation. Basic understanding of GMPs, food safety principles, and SQF warehouse expectations. Ability to operate reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment safely.
