Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
RXL, Inc.Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to lead our warehouse distribution operations. In this vital role, you will oversee the efficient processing of inbound and outbound shipments, manage warehouse staff, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Responsibilities Directly responsible for the safety of department’s employees to include stringent enforcement of safety policies and procedures, ensuring proper PPE is worn at all times, communication of monthly safety topics, prompt completion of all accident or near miss reports, and ensure that all LOTO procedures are followed at all times. Ensure proper data entry of receiving material or shipment of material is entered into the inventory tracking system correctly. Load and unload trucks properly and safely. Adjust inventory via negative balance sheets to ensure that inventory balance variances coordinate cycle counting results and reconciliation. Must possess and demonstrate good communication and telephone etiquette and skills. Coordinate customer returned material (RMAs). Track customer returned material from point of return to dispositions, completing all necessary paperwork. Assist Accounts Payable with invoice reconciliation when necessary. Lead and assign work to all associates in the shipping and receiving departments. Track attendance and vacation for associates in the shipping and receiving department. Able to work in a team environment to include relieving other associates in instances of breaks, absenteeism, vacation or other production requirements. Maintains good housekeeping and follows established safety procedures. Work with all required levels of associates to resolve variances, including material handling, Stockkeepers, Associate Supervisors, Team Leaders/ Supervisors. Include communication with cost accounting, scheduling and all needed support associates. Ensure all employees follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual. Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel. Additional duties as assigned to ensure productivity is being met Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 5+ years of experience in warehouse or logistics environment required Intermediate computer skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office, data entry, record-keeping, generating reports Basic math and equipment operations such as forklift certification or experience. Physical Requirements Ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing. Ability to safely work around forklifts, heavy machinery, and large metal materials while wearing required Personal Protective Equipement (PPE). Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work extended hours, including staying late as needed to meet operational demands. Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb. Ability to use hands for handling, grasping, and manipulating objects. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as needed Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and a fast-paced industrial setting. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as required. Ability to maintain regular attendance and adhere to all safety requirements.
