Position Summary Davis Shipping & Transports LLC is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to assist with incoming deliveries, outgoing shipments, and daily shipping operations. This entry-level position helps ensure that goods are received, checked, documented, and prepared for transportation accurately and on schedule. The role combines hands-on material handling with basic recordkeeping and coordination with drivers, carriers, and team members. Training will be provided on company procedures and daily workflows. Responsibilities Receive incoming shipments and verify package counts, labels, and delivery information. Check received goods for visible damage, missing items, or discrepancies and report any issues. Prepare outgoing orders and shipments according to provided instructions. Create and apply shipping labels, packing slips, and other required documentation. Record incoming and outgoing shipment details in company logs or computer systems. Organize packages, freight, and materials in designated storage or staging areas. Coordinate pickup and delivery details with drivers, carriers, and internal staff. Monitor shipment status and help follow up on delayed or incomplete deliveries. Maintain accurate shipping records and keep paperwork properly organized. Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly receiving and shipping area. Assist with inventory counts and locating items when needed. Perform other routine shipping, receiving, and logistics support tasks as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Basic computer skills and ability to enter information into digital records. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to follow written instructions and established procedures. Clear communication and a cooperative approach to teamwork. Reliable, punctual, and consistent work habits. Ability to manage routine tasks in a fast-paced work environment. Comfortable standing, walking, and handling packages or materials as needed. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with basic shipping documents, package labels, or inventory records is helpful but not required.
