Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Overview As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, you’ll keep warehouse operations moving by coordinating incoming and outgoing goods, maintaining accurate inventory, and supporting timely order fulfillment. You’ll use warehouse systems and equipment to receive, store, pick, pack, and ship products safely and accurately. Duties Receive, inspect, and document shipments; enter shipment and inventory details through data entry in a warehouse management system or enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Pick, pack, label, and stage orders for warehouse distribution, e-commerce, and shipping logistics; load and unload deliveries. Update inventory records, stock products, and investigate discrepancies using inventory management software, a radio-frequency (RF) scanner, and Microsoft Office. Operate a forklift, order picker, or pallet jack when authorized; follow safe procedures for packaging and material handling. Support customer service by resolving routine order or delivery questions, and follow trade compliance and international trade regulations when handling applicable shipments. Experience Warehouse experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, or order fulfillment is helpful. Basic math skills and accuracy with data entry, order picking, and picking and packing are important. Familiarity with a warehouse management system, inventory management software, ERP systems, Microsoft Office, or RF scanners is preferred; related systems can vary by workplace. Forklift, order picker, or pallet jack experience is useful; operate equipment only when trained and authorized.
