Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the accurate and efficient handling of inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring seamless warehouse operations. Your expertise in shipping logistics, inventory management, and warehouse processes will contribute to maintaining optimal stock levels and timely order fulfillment. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders using warehouse management systems and RF scanners. Prepare outgoing shipments by accurately picking, packing, labeling, and documenting orders in accordance with customer specifications and shipping regulations. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load and unload trucks safely and efficiently. Ensure compliance with trade regulations and international trade laws during shipment processing. Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve shipment issues promptly and provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, or logistics roles with familiarity in warehouse distribution processes. Proficiency in warehouse management systems, inventory management software, ERP systems (such as AS400), and data entry tools like Microsoft Office. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for order quantities, weights, dimensions, and measurements. Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. Strong understanding of shipping logistics, order fulfillment procedures, packaging standards, and stocking techniques. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and external carriers; customer service orientation is a plus.
