Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Position Summary Dhaka Cargo is seeking a reliable Shipping and Receiving Specialist to assist with the movement of incoming and outgoing shipments. This role is responsible for checking deliveries, preparing items for dispatch, keeping shipment information up to date, and helping the team maintain an accurate flow of goods. The position combines hands-on package handling with basic recordkeeping and coordination. We are looking for someone who takes care with shipment details, stays organized, and is ready to learn the daily procedures. Responsibilities Receive incoming shipments and compare delivered items with packing lists or accompanying paperwork. Record delivery dates, package counts, and relevant shipment details in company records. Check outgoing items for correct quantities, labels, and destination information before release. Prepare shipping documents and organize packages for scheduled carrier pickups. Sort incoming goods and outgoing shipments into designated areas to prevent mix-ups. Identify missing paperwork, incorrect labels, or visible package damage and report issues promptly. Communicate with coworkers to coordinate receiving tasks and shipment preparation. Keep shipment records, delivery receipts, and dispatch documents filed and accessible. Help maintain an organized receiving area and staging space for outgoing cargo. Monitor commonly used shipping supplies and notify the team when additional materials are needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong attention to detail and basic organizational skills. Ability to follow written instructions and handle routine paperwork. Basic computer skills for entering and updating shipment information. Dependable attendance and a cooperative approach to teamwork. Willingness to learn shipping and receiving procedures. Ability to perform a combination of desk-based tasks and routine package handling. No previous experience required; training provided. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with delivery records, package sorting, inventory checks, or shipping paperwork. Ability to recognize discrepancies and communicate them clearly.
