Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the efficient movement of goods in and out of our warehouse, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with shipping regulations. Duties Manage all aspects of shipping and receiving processes, including verifying inbound and outbound shipments Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software such as AS400 or similar platforms for data entry and inventory tracking Operate equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and order pickers to load, unload, stock, and organize inventory efficiently Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation for domestic and international shipments in compliance with trade regulations and customs requirements Conduct inventory management activities including stock counting, cycle counts, and reconciliation to maintain accurate records Coordinate with logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries while optimizing shipping logistics for cost-effectiveness and timeliness Perform quality checks on incoming goods for damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment adhering to safety standards and best practices in warehouse operations Support order fulfillment activities such as picking & packing orders for e-commerce platforms or wholesale clients Assist with load & unload operations ensuring proper handling of goods using appropriate equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks Skills Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms Strong knowledge of shipping logistics, trade compliance, international trade regulations, and customs documentation Experience with warehouse distribution processes including stocking, order picking & packing, load & unload procedures Excellent data entry skills combined with basic math abilities for accurate inventory tracking and order processing Skilled in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts (certification preferred), RF scanners, pallet jacks, and order pickers Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications for reporting and communication purposes Exceptional customer service skills to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors effectively Ability to follow detailed procedures while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of e-commerce fulfillment processes and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems is a plus Join us as a Shipping and Receiving Specialist where your expertise will directly impact our operational success.
