Receiving Lead Position Summary The Receiving Lead runs our entire receiving department and this department will be point of accountability for everything that comes through the inbound dock. This person is responsible for making sure every shipment is verified, routed correctly, and recorded accurately. Just as importantly, the Receiving Lead is a connector across the farm: working closely with Purchasing, Inventory Control, Shipping and other departments to understand how each team uses incoming product, what level of verification it requires, and where it needs to go once it lands. Key Responsibilities Inbound Operations & Disposition Lead daily receiving — unloading, inspection, count verification, and put-away Coordinate inbound appointments with carriers and vendors Verify shipments against POs, packing slips, and BOLs; resolve SKU, quantity, and damage discrepancies at delivery Apply the right level of verification to each item type: full piece counts and inspection where required and pass-throughs for items that route directly to a department or production line Make real-time decisions — what gets staged, what gets put away, what gets escalated to QA, and what gets handed off directly to the requesting department Inventory Accuracy Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of all receipt transactions being accounted for upon delivery and updating internal software Reconcile overages, shortages, damages, and mislabeled goods; document root cause and drive corrective action with vendors and purchasing and inventory dept Department Leadership Run the receiving department end-to-end Set department goals and build SOPs Identify continuous-improvement opportunities to cut errors, reduce dock-to-stock time, and improve labor efficiency Report vendor disputes, quality concerns, system errors, urgent inbound Develop a tracking system to keep in bound shipments organized and communicated within other depts. Cross-Functional Coordination Build strong working relationships across the farm so receiving is a partner, not a bottleneck Understand how each department uses incoming product and tailor the receiving process accordingly Communicate proactively about inbound schedules, exceptions, and changes so dependent teams can plan their own work Partner with Purchasing on vendor performance — chronic shorts, mislabeling, late deliveries, and packaging issues Qualifications Required 2+ years of warehouse or distribution experience. Experience leading a receiving team or department is a plus Strong working knowledge of inbound documentation and discrepancy resolution Proven ability to communicate and coordinate effectively across departments Comfort with Excel or Google Sheets for reporting Forklift certification High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Bilingual English/Spanish Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 lbs regularly, occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance Stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout an 8+ hour shift Operate powered industrial trucks Work in all weather conditions Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Employee discount Paid time off Work Location: In person
