Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Overview As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, you’ll keep warehouse operations moving by coordinating incoming and outgoing goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting timely order fulfillment. You’ll use warehouse management systems and inventory management software to track shipments, verify orders, and update data. Your impact: Accurate receiving and shipping records help warehouse teams locate stock quickly and customers receive the correct orders. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and document deliveries; compare items and quantities with purchase orders and shipping documents. Pick, pack, label, and stage orders; support stocking, order picking, and warehouse distribution. Load and unload shipments using equipment such as a pallet jack, order picker, or forklift, when trained and authorized. Enter shipment and inventory data using a warehouse management system, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, materials requirements planning (MRP) tools, or AS400. Follow shipping logistics, trade compliance, and international trade regulations; communicate shipment issues with carriers and internal teams. Qualifications Warehouse experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, inventory management, or order fulfillment is preferred. Familiarity with warehouse operations, inventory management software, and radio-frequency (RF) scanners is an asset. Basic math, accurate data entry, and Microsoft Office skills. Customer service skills and clear communication when resolving order or delivery questions. Ability to safely handle packaging and material-handling equipment; forklift experience is preferred.
