Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the accurate and efficient processing of inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring that all inventory movements adhere to company standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Manage the receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming shipments using warehouse management systems and RFID scanners. Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and verifying orders with accuracy through order picking tools and inventory management software. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely to load and unload trucks efficiently. Maintain accurate inventory records by performing regular stock counts, data entry, and updating warehouse management systems in real-time. Coordinate shipping logistics with carriers, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards when applicable. Assist in organizing warehouse distribution activities including stocking, order fulfillment, and packaging to optimize workflow. Support warehouse operations by adhering to safety protocols, conducting routine inspections, and participating in process improvements for increased efficiency. Requirements Proven experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, or inventory management. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and inventory management software. Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment safely. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for data entry and order accuracy. Basic math skills for measuring quantities, calculating weights, and verifying shipments. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and external carriers. Knowledge of shipping logistics, order fulfillment processes, and international trade regulations is preferred. Physical ability to lift heavy items regularly and stand for extended periods during shift hours.
