Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team. Responsibilities Manage incoming shipments by verifying delivery documentation, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, and accurately recording receipt details using inventory management software and ERP systems. Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting appropriate packaging materials, ensuring proper labeling, and coordinating with carriers for timely pickup and delivery. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and order pickers to load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain precise inventory records through data entry in warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms; conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies. Facilitate order picking, packing, and order fulfillment processes to meet customer expectations for accuracy and speed. Ensure compliance with trade regulations, international trade laws, and shipping logistics standards during all shipping and receiving activities. Support warehouse distribution efforts by organizing stock placement, stocking shelves, and preparing items for shipment or storage based on MRP (Material Requirements Planning) schedules. Skills Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems (such as AS400), and order fulfillment tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel for reporting and documentation purposes. Excellent understanding of shipping logistics, trade compliance, international trade regulations, and e-commerce fulfillment processes. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts, measurements, and cost estimations. Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts (certification preferred), pallet jacks, RF scanners, and order pickers safely. Effective data entry skills with high attention to detail to ensure accurate recordkeeping of all inbound/outbound shipments. Exceptional customer service skills to coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams effectively while maintaining a positive attitude. Knowledge of warehouse operations including stocking procedures, load & unload activities, picking & packing processes, and order processing workflows.
