Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Summary As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, you’ll keep products moving accurately through warehouse operations—from arrival and inspection to storage, order fulfillment, and shipment. You’ll use warehouse management systems, inventory management software, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to record transactions, track stock, and support shipping logistics. This hands-on role works with warehouse distribution, e-commerce orders, and, where applicable, international shipments. Your impact: Accurate receiving and shipping records help customers receive the right orders and help warehouse teams maintain dependable inventory. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and document incoming goods; compare shipments with purchase orders and report discrepancies. Pick, pack, label, and stage orders; prepare shipping documents and verify outgoing shipments. Stock and organize inventory, update records through data entry, and investigate inventory differences. Load and unload freight using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, and radio-frequency (RF) scanners, following safe operating procedures. Support trade compliance by following applicable international trade regulations and escalating documentation concerns. Skills Essential: Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, logistics, inventory management, order picking, picking and packing, packaging, and basic math. Essential: Accurate data entry, attention to detail, and customer service skills. Preferred: Experience with a warehouse management system, inventory management software, ERP systems, materials requirements planning (MRP), or AS400. Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Office, warehouse distribution, e-commerce fulfillment, and trade compliance. Ability to use or learn a forklift, pallet jack, order picker, and RF scanner; experience loading and unloading freight is an asset.
