Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the efficient movement of goods in and out of our warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory management, timely order fulfillment, and seamless shipping logistics. Your expertise will help maintain smooth warehouse operations, support customer satisfaction, and uphold trade compliance standards. Duties Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, inspect for damages, and accurately record data using RF scanners and inventory management software. Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and ensuring proper packaging according to shipping requirements. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load and unload trucks efficiently. Maintain precise inventory levels through regular stock counts, data entry into ERP systems like AS400 or MRP software, and updating inventory management systems. Coordinate with logistics providers to arrange shipping schedules, track shipments, and ensure compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock in designated areas for easy access and efficient order picking. Document all shipping & receiving activities meticulously, including inbound/outbound logs and incident reports when necessary. Skills Strong proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (such as AS400), and inventory management software. Excellent knowledge of shipping logistics, order fulfillment processes, and warehouse operations. Skilled in using RF scanners, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely and effectively. Basic math skills for counting, measurements, and verifying shipment details accurately. Experience with packaging techniques suitable for various products to ensure safe delivery. Ability to perform data entry efficiently while maintaining high accuracy levels. Exceptional customer service skills to communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal teams regarding shipment status or issues.
