We are searching for a Shipping and Receiving Specialist to manage material flow, inbound receiving, inventory staging, and outbound freight as we continue to manufacture and deliver top-tier industrial machinery nationwide. Position Overview The Shipping and Receiving Specialist serves as the vital operational backbone connecting our suppliers, production floor, and final equipment deliveries. This role is responsible for inspecting, verifying, and stocking incoming raw materials, machined parts, electrical subassemblies, and heavy components, as well as securely packing, crating, and coordinating the outbound freight of finished CNC machinery, tooling, and replacement parts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-driven, and a proactive communicator who thrives on inventory accuracy, rigorous quality verification at the dock, and keeping the shop floor moving with zero staging delays. This position focuses on dock management, material handling, inventory integrity, and freight logistics to maintain operational uptime and customer satisfaction. Key ResponsibilitiesReceiving & Material Ingestion Inbound Verification: Safely unload freight carriers, cross-reference packing slips against Purchase Orders (POs) in our ERP system, and inspect shipments for physical damage or discrepancies. Quality & Non-Conformance: Partner with Quality Control and Purchasing to flag, document, and quarantine non-conforming, incorrect, or damaged parts; generate receiving discrepancy reports and initiate RMA processes. Material Staging & Put-Away: Promptly transport verified materials to their designated inventory locations, work-in-progress (WIP) staging areas, or shop floor assembly cells to prevent production bottlenecks. Shipping, Packaging & Outbound Freight Machinery & Parts Outbound: Coordinate LTL, flatbed, and dedicated carrier pickups; prepare, crate, strap, and block industrial equipment, spare parts, and tooling for safe transit nationwide. Documentation & Compliance: Generate accurate shipping paperwork including Bills of Lading (BOLs), commercial invoices, packing lists, and freight labels, ensuring full compliance with transport regulations. Carrier Communication: Interface directly with freight brokers, dispatchers, and truck drivers to confirm pickup schedules, track in-transit deliveries, and resolve transit delays. Inventory Control & Warehouse Operations System Accuracy: Perform real-time data entry for all inventory movements, transfers, receipts, and shipments within the ERP system to maintain reliable stock records. Auditing & Cycle Counting: Participate in regular cycle counts and stock audits, investigating root causes for variances and implementing corrective put-away practices. Facility & Equipment Safety: Maintain clean, organized docks, aisles, and storage yards; conduct routine inspections and daily safety checks on forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment. Required Qualifications 1-2 years of shipping and receiving experience in an industrial manufacturing, heavy machinery, metal fabrication, or warehouse environment. Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., Fishbowl, NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and standard computer tools (Excel, Outlook, freight carrier portals) for logging receipts and booking shipments. Material handling experience , including safe operation of sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and heavy rigging/overhead cranes (or ability to earn internal certification). Demonstrated experience handling heavy machinery freight, flatbeds, LTL logistics, crating, and freight securement .
