Shipping and Receiving Specialist
DPX TechnologiesGeneral Summary and Responsibilities: The Shipping/Receiving Specialist performs inventory management for incoming and outgoing company products and raw materials necessary to manufacture products. Responsible for performing the administrative tasks involved in accurately and efficiently shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Specific Job Duties: Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment (weight, quantity, identity, etc.); may process return shipments. Maintains records of shipped and received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Notifies and/or delivers incoming product to end user. Manages raw material and critical supply inventories, including maintenance and cleaning of inventory area, inventory organization and racking, inventory cycle counting and reporting, and reconciliation. Responsible for managing all outbound shipments, management of packaging materials inventories, packaging of product to be shipped, and arrangement of transportation services. Distributes documentation, including transfer of original documents, to purchasing supervisor. Checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that product, labels, quantities, destination, and routing are correct. Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received. Inspects shipments for damages/defects; records discrepancies/damages; notifies supervisor. Execute transactions to move, receive, issue, or scrap materials in inventory. Ensure inventory storage conditions are appropriate to prevent mix-ups, damage, deterioration, contamination or other adverse effects. Requirements: Follows established policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements per the DPX Quality System. Report any work-related injury, illness, incident or hazard. Correct hazards within your control and capabilities. Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and cleaning tasks. Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet production goals. Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams in a professional and respectful manner. Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements. Participates actively in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development. Reliable and punctual. Physical Requirements: Work is performed in a warehouse environment. Exposure to pneumatic and power equipment with potential for physical hazards such as pinch points. Physically capable of repetitive manual labor that includes lifting, bending, and reaching. Exposure to chemicals. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. Must adhere to established safety practices as required. Must be available for nights and weekends/occasional overtime. Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs. Work Relationships and Environment: Responsible to and supervised by Assistant Production Manager. Works directly with production team. This position requires employee to work primarily in warehouse setting, but will be required to be in manufacturing or office setting as necessary to perform job duties listed above.
