Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our logistics team. Responsibilities Coordinate the receipt and dispatch of goods using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms. Verify shipment accuracy by inspecting packages, labels, and documentation; ensure proper packing, labeling, and compliance with trade regulations. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and order pickers to load and unload trucks efficiently while maintaining safety standards. Manage inventory levels through data entry into inventory management software; conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies. Prepare shipments for delivery by packaging items securely, selecting appropriate materials, and ensuring order fulfillment accuracy. Collaborate with logistics providers to arrange transportation schedules for domestic and international shipments in accordance with trade compliance regulations. Maintain detailed records of all inbound and outbound shipments, including shipping logs, incident reports, and delivery confirmations. Requirements Proven experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, or logistics roles with familiarity using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software. Strong knowledge of shipping logistics, order fulfillment processes, packaging techniques, and international trade regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data entry, reporting, and communication purposes. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and shipment documentation. Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment. Excellent customer service skills to coordinate with internal teams and external carriers effectively. Experience working with ERP systems such as AS400 or MRP platforms like MRPII is preferred. Ability to handle physical tasks including load & unload activities while adhering to safety protocols.
