Job Title: Material Handler – Fabrication Location: Addison, IL (Onsite) Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00 / hour Job Type: Full-Time / Non-Union About The Role We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Material Handler – Fabrication to join our team in an agile, fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring production runs smoothly by accurately gathering, organizing, and delivering raw materials and components to work centers, maintaining inventory accuracy, and operating material handling equipment. Key Responsibilities Raw Material Handling & Kitting Unload sheet metal, copper, and raw materials from trucks and trailers safely. Store and put away goods properly within warehouse racking systems. Verify receipts against shipping documentation, label stock, and document material movement. Kit and deliver raw materials to the appropriate production work centers on schedule. Remove scrap material and waste from the production floor. Inventory Control & Management Monitor stock levels, track usage, and report shortages or discrepancies to leadership. Perform routine cycle counts and basic data entry in inventory management software. Coordinate with procurement teams to support timely replenishment of stock. Ensure materials are stored securely to prevent damage or loss. Equipment Operation & Site Safety Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Complete required tracking, work orders, and production documentation accurately. Adhere strictly to workplace safety standards and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area. Qualifications & Skills Education: High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred. Experience: Previous experience picking, kitting, or handling materials/components for custom or make-to-order manufacturing environments. Technical Skills: Familiarity with powered industrial trucks/forklifts and basic computer proficiency (inventory software). Soft Skills: Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
