Shipping and Receiving Manager

Role Description The Shipping and Receiving Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Lakeland, FL. This role oversees daily shipping and receiving activities, including scheduling inbound and outbound shipments, verifying orders, and ensuring accurate documentation. The manager supervises warehouse staff, coordinates workload, and monitors compliance with safety procedures and company policies. Day-to-day tasks include managing inventory levels, organizing storage and staging areas, and resolving discrepancies in counts or shipment details. The role also involves operating or overseeing forklift use, maintaining equipment standards, and collaborating with internal teams and carriers to meet delivery timelines and service expectations. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, task delegation, and performance monitoring. Candidates should possess Shipping & Receiving experience, including order processing, documentation, and coordination of inbound and outbound freight. Candidates should possess Inventory Control skills, such as cycle counting, stock reconciliation, and basic inventory system usage. Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for coordinating with drivers, vendors, internal departments, and team members. Candidates should possess safe Forklift Operation skills and familiarity with other material-handling equipment. Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in lumber or manufacturing environments, knowledge of warehouse safety standards (e.g., OSHA guidelines), and basic computer literacy for using shipping and inventory software. High school diploma or equivalent is typically required; prior experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse management role is strongly preferred.
