Shipping and Receiving Manager

Shipping and Receiving Manager Sprung Structures’ history began in 1887 with the design of custom canvas products. Over the past 13 decades, generations of the Sprung family have continued to innovate and improve the technology, applying it to structures across multiple industries, including military bases, schools, hospitals, sports arenas, fabrication plants, warehouses, and sound stages. Sprung Structures is looking for an organized, bilingual in English and Spanish, and motivated Shipping and Receiving Manager to lead daily shipping and distribution operations. A successful shipping manager is analytical, well-organized, and a good leader of the team. The Shipping and Receiving Manager is responsible for the timely delivery of scheduled shipments to support customer needs while maintaining and improving efficiency, quality, safety, cost control, and good housekeeping. The successful candidate will coordinate the movement of goods, oversee shipping documentation, resolve operational issues, and collaborate with departmental managers to keep processes running smoothly. Key Responsibilities: - Closely supervise and monitor staff productivity to ensure established goals and targets are achieved. - Provide timely feedback and operational updates to senior management as required. - Ensure shipping and receiving activities comply with all legal requirements, company guidelines, and workplace safety standards. - Identify and resolve all shipping and receiving-related issues that arise during daily operations. - Control and direct the movement of packages and materials from preparation through delivery. - Manage shipping and receiving records, including pick-up slips and other delivery-related documents. - Work closely with other departmental managers to maintain an efficient, free-flowing process. - Support improvements in efficiency, quality, cost, safety, and housekeeping across shipping and receiving operations. Qualifications & Skills: - Bilingual in English and Spanish - Leadership & Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and to lead, coordinate, and motivate others. - Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and updates. - Organization: Excellent organizational and coordinating abilities, with the capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively. - Problem Solving: Detail-oriented approach and strong problem-solving skills. - Computer Skills: Familiarity with commonly used computer software, including Microsoft Office.
