Position Summary The Level 1 Shipping and Receiving Associate safely completes routine receiving, material movement, picking, packing, and shipping tasks using established instructions with routine supervision. This employee verifies basic counts and identification, maintains documentation, protects product, and escalates discrepancies or damage. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive incoming deliveries and compare material, quantity, identification, and condition to packing slips, purchase documentation, or receiving instructions. Report shortages, overages, visible damage, incorrect material, missing paperwork, or other discrepancies before material is released or moved. Label, identify, stage, and put away accepted material in assigned locations using established inventory and material-handling procedures. Pick parts, materials, and finished products by item, revision, quantity, lot, heat, job, or other required identification. Pack and protect product using approved containers, dunnage, wrapping, banding, pallets, and customer or job instructions. Prepare routine shipment labels, packing lists, counts, weights, and basic carrier documentation using approved systems and procedures. Load and unload trucks safely and operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment only when trained and authorized. Maintain traceability and keep received, staged, quarantined, work-in-process, and finished goods separated and properly identified. Perform routine housekeeping, packaging-supply checks, equipment inspections, and end-of-shift organization. Required Skills and Qualifications Working knowledge of safe material handling, dock practices, product protection, and warehouse organization. Ability to read packing slips, purchase or job information, part numbers, quantities, revisions, and shipping instructions. Ability to count accurately and use scales, tape measures, scanners, computers, and common packaging tools. Ability to complete routine receiving and shipping records accurately and on time. Typical qualification may include relevant warehouse, manufacturing, shipping, receiving, or material-handling experience.
