rt and primary point of contact for resolving operational issues, coordinating daily dock activities, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Shipping Department Lead plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and leading department employees to achieve operational goals.
Responsibilities
• Able to perform all the job duties of a Shift Lead in the areas of shipping and receiving, assigning work to their teams, as well as required paperwork and tasks
• Ensures that all dock safety procedures are being followed
• Manages the training program, ensuring that training is effective and tracked
• Works with the Load Planner to ensure efficient dock scheduling
• Ensures that shift teams follow dock schedules
• Ensures that department personnel are following proper procedures to maintain the accuracy of all shipping and receiving operations, including outbound finished goods, blank transfers, and roll shipments, along with deliveries of roll stock, shippers, outsourced window blanks, pallets and sundry items
• Receives outsourced window blanks into SAP
• Ensures that received material is picked up from staging areas by responsible parties
• Ensures that Shift Leads are updating Open Dock with accurate status
• Ensures that drivers are being checked in and out professionally and efficiently
