Shipping and Receiving Clerk ATACO Steel Products Corp. Schedule 1st Shift: 4:00 AM – 2:00 PM Occasional mandatory Friday overtime (no more than two Fridays per month) Position Summary The Shipping and Receiving Clerk supports daily shipping and receiving operations so that materials and finished goods move accurately and on time. This position loads and unloads trucks, prepares shipments, verifies materials, and enters shipment data into the company’s computer system, all while following proper handling and safety procedures. Key Responsibilities Load trucks and prepare materials and products for shipment Verify shipments for correct materials, quantities, and documentation Pack and crate materials for safe transportation Apply proper tags, labels, and handling instructions to outgoing shipments Secure and brace materials in trailers to prevent damage in transit Unload incoming trucks and inspect deliveries for accuracy and condition Receive materials into the computer system and complete required documentation Move materials throughout the facility using appropriate material handling equipment Perform general material handling Keep the shipping and receiving area organized Follow all company safety procedures and policies Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or member of management Qualifications Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing preferred Skills and Abilities Accurately verifies materials, quantities, and shipping documentation Basic computer skills, including entering data into company systems Safely operates forklifts or other material handling equipment (or is willing to obtain certification) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Works well independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements Lift, move, and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
