Shipping and Receiving Clerk

We have a great opportunity for a Service Technician at our corporate headquarters in Cumming, GA. Summary The Shipping and Receiving Clerk performs physical and systematic receipts of all materials and services for Production, including shipment verification, visual inspection (receipt to inspection as required), coordination of unload plan, timely receipt of Purchase Order in system and oversight of storage in our facility. Completes the shipment of parts for customer orders, including preparation of related documents, verifying quality and quantity of products, and assisting in coordinating delivery arrangements. This role is instrumental in ensuring the successful shipping of customer orders while exemplifying Harben’s core values. Key Responsibilities Packages, wraps, and palatalizes items as appropriate per shipping method. Labels materials with identifying information using appropriate method. Continuously monitors inventory levels and due dates on customer orders, generated by Sales/Customer Service. Notifies Sales, and/or other managers regarding order issues, which includes possible order errors, delivery capacity, inadequate lead time on orders, and any other factors that would affect delivery times. Verify that all deliveries into facility have valid delivery authorization (active Purchase Order). This includes all raw materials and services. Unloads and stages shipments required to complete the receiving process Performs thorough visual inspections to determine if product(s) are of acceptable quality. Verifies quantities on packing slip from vendor match delivered quantities. Documents differences on packing slip. Develops unload plan after quality and quantities are verified as acceptable. This could range from very simple (small UPS delivery), to very complex such as coordinating unload of a large order. Performs the “Receipt Entry” transaction in system timely Sorts and places received items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, which can include size, type, style, color, or product code. Labels materials with proper identifying information. Maintains organized and thorough filing system for inbound material and services (packing slips). Assists in cycle counts and year end physical inventory. Keeps work area, tools, and equipment clean and properly maintained. Perform additional duties as requested. QUALIFICATIONS Competencies (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities) Strong organizational skills. Ability to perform basic math calculations and measurements. Good judgment skills. Ability to work with others at all levels to facilitate resolution to problems. Computer skills required include ERP systems, Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel), and online shipping programs such as UPS and FedEx. Strong verbal and written skills are required. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Flexibility and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Work effectively with details and numbers. Ability to professionally and tactfully notify vendors when their delivery does not meet our minimum criteria. Ability to adopt and demonstrate Harben’s Core Values. Education High School Diploma/GED required. Experience Required Minimum of one (1) year experience operating a forklift required.
