Department: Warehouse / Logistics Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating the accurate and timely movement of inbound and outbound materials at ProComp. This role verifies shipment contents against purchase orders and bills of lading, maintains inventory records, and ensures all shipping and receiving activities comply with company procedures and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for damage, accuracy, and completeness against packing slips and purchase orders. Prepare, pack, label, and stage outgoing shipments in accordance with carrier and customer requirements. Verify quantities and part numbers, and reconcile discrepancies with vendors, carriers, or internal departments. Enter and update receiving, shipping, and inventory transactions in the warehouse management or ERP system. Generate shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork as needed. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move materials safely. Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries, and track shipments to resolve delays or exceptions. Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas, ensuring proper labeling, rotation, and space utilization. Conduct periodic cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits. Report damaged, missing, or nonconforming materials to the Warehouse Supervisor and initiate claims as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping/receiving area in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 1+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics environment preferred. Basic computer skills, including data entry and familiarity with inventory or ERP software. Valid forklift certification, or ability to obtain certification upon hire. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and counts. Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team. Ability to read and interpret packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping labels. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift and move materials up to 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 75 lbs. with assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods during a shift. Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. Ability to work in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures and noise levels. Work Schedule Standard shift hours apply, with occasional overtime required to meet shipping deadlines or seasonal volume increases. The minimum starting hourly rate for this position is $20.00.
