Shipping and Receiving Associate/Driver

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Set priorities for delivery schedules based on company needs Coordinate with departments to schedule packages and deliver as needed Receive trucks and unload merchandise Stack materials/products on racks, and stock warehouse with tools Move materials/products off racks and package for shipment Check in materials/products and affix labels Place materials/products on pallets or shelves for distribution Sort material according to size, type, style, color, or product code Follow procedures for record keeping order processing and inventory management Use route navigation apps and knowledge of area to deliver packages from vendors Interact with vendors in a professional manner Complete regular maintenance checks on delivery truck Maintain electronic logs to track routes and deliveries Carry out tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager KEY RELATIONSHIPS The Drive/Associate reports directly to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor. The Driver will be expected to work and coordinate with the Manufacturing Department. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum experience of one year as a delivery driver. Valid, Class C (regular) driver’s license. Good driving record with no traffic violations. Must be punctual, dependable, and maintain a professional appearance. Ability to meet physical requirements of the job including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying (up to 75 pounds), and the ability to climb ladders. Ability to drive for regular shifts. Basic computer skills. Experience using MS Outlook, Word, and Excel. US citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holders) due to Government ITAR regulations. DESIRABLE Experience operating forklift or other hand truck a plus Knowledge relating to maintaining truck (i.e., lights, brakes, oil, tires) Familiarity or experience with woodworking a plus Work occasional evenings and weekends as needed Experience operating a forklift or machinery ABOUT APPLIED COMPANIES Applied Companies, Inc. is a Southern California manufacturer of ruggedized Environmental Control Units (ECU’s) and Pressure Vessels for tactical military systems.
