Geo Knight & Co., Inc.Shipper & Receiver Department Head Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary Shipper / Receiver needed Full Time at well-established Manufacturing Co. in Brockton, MA. We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and detail-oriented Shipper / Receiver to join our team and manage all incoming and outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate would have experience with UPS and FedEx shipping, (or the ability to learn new things thoroughly & eagerly), and must have a high level of integrity & accuracy in order picking, packaging, and handling paperwork. This is a crucial long-term position in the company with plenty of room to grow, taking on assistant-management types of factory responsibilities & compensation. You can make a decades-long career in this position, as has the current individual now retiring. Key Responsibilities Shipping & Packaging: Prepare outgoing shipments according to order specifications and package shipments for damage-free transit. Utilize shipping software to process shipments & labels. Coordinate with various freight carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries. Prepare including packing lists, bills of lading, labels, and international customs paperwork if required. Receiving & Inventory: Promptly unload incoming deliveries using equipment such as manual pallet jacks or forklifts (once certified). Inspect all incoming shipments for damage, verifying contents against packing lists. Store components and materials in the warehouse in their appropriate locations. Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory in designated warehouse racks & locations, also keeping a clean and safe work environment. Assist in occasional inventory counts of requested components. Collaborate with factory personnel to alert purchasing of low part inventory levels. Process materials: Cut materials on rolls for resale to size for certain parts shipments. Administration & Communication: Work closely with factory staff to coordinate shipping priorities as well as check filled-order accuracy & discrepancies. Follow all safety regulations and standard operating procedures. Qualifications & Skills: Very Dependable - Excellent Attendance – Long Term mindset. Driven, Self-Motivated, Able to Work Independently. High school diploma or equivalent. Able & Eager to Learn New Things. Comfortable with computers and shipping software. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods. Forklift Certification Necessary. Experience is a plus – otherwise we can train & certify. Mandatory startup & random (Illicit) Drug Screening performed. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. (Required) Authorized to work in the United States (Required) Schedule / Pay: Full-Time - Hours 9:30 am-6:00 pm. M-F. Overtime is often available. Minimum Starting Pay $25.00 Per Hour.
