Shipper and Receiver
RAE INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICSWe’re looking for one reliable person to join us for approximately 1-2 months to help with our day-to-day shipping activities. The roles hours are negotiable, 28-40 hours a week. Potential for a permanent role depending on circumstances in the coming days. POSITION SUMMARY The Shipper / Receiver position will have you working at RAE’s office location, at 11 Morris Drive, Dartmouth, NS. You will be working with our sales & support departments and report directly to the Warehouse manager, John Tracy. RANGE OF DUTIES · Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials · Receive all goods into RAE’s ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics) and complete any required daily shipping and receiving logs · Stock organization in RAE’s warehouse. · Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as; manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of shipment · Determine the best shipping method for outgoing product and materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates · Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment · Pack, seal, and label materials to prepare for shipping · Adhere to shipping and receiving policies/procedures, and regulatory compliance procedures · Record shipment data for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes · Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of product and materials · Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications · Order, inventory and store shipping supplies · Maintain and clean shipping and receiving area · Complete incident reports in relation to health and safety issues or material spills · Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and professional manner ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Possess the following skill sets: active listening, reading comprehension, instructing, coordination, time management, speaking, writing, basic mathematics, monitoring, social perceptiveness, and critical thinking Technically competent with various software programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, etc. A general understanding with the Industrial Electronics & Automation industry Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure (customer service oriented ) environment is crucial Have a passion for customer satisfaction and the ability to see the "big picture" General knowledge of Transportation of dangerous goods considered an asset but not essential Use of Microsoft Salespad/ Dynamics again, considered an asset but not essential as training will be given. Moderate lifting required Pay: From $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 28.0 – 40.0 per week Experience: Warehouse: 2 years (preferred) Microsoft Office: 5 years (preferred) Work Location: In person
