Shipper and Receiver
Johnson March Systems, IncJob Overview We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipper and Receiver to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient handling, shipping, and receiving of materials and products within our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting various warehouse functions. This position requires a self-starter with the ability to multitask, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate various equipment to support our logistical needs. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and quality. Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting appropriate packaging materials and verifying order details. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely to move heavy materials within the warehouse. Perform basic rigging and carpentry tasks, including custom crate building for specialized items. Identify materials accurately using basic identification techniques to support inventory management. Interface with accounting and purchasing departments to coordinate shipment details and inventory updates. Maintain organized records of all shipments and receipts for tracking purposes. Assist in warehouse operations by supporting other team members as needed, including multi-tasking across various duties. Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for record keeping and communication. Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts safely. Experience with warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management. Ability to operate overhead cranes and perform basic rigging tasks. Carpentry skills, including custom crate building when necessary. Basic material identification skills for accurate inventory control. Strong self-starting attitude with the ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Good communication skills for effective interface with accounting and purchasing teams.
