Shift Manager

Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily store activities, including sales floor management, stock replenishment, and checkout procedures using POS (Point of Sale) systems. Lead and motivate team members through effective training, employee orientation, and ongoing development initiatives. Manage employee scheduling, shift assignments, and payroll processing to ensure optimal coverage and operational efficiency. Oversee inventory management tasks such as stock control, purchasing, merchandising, and inventory audits to maintain accuracy and prevent loss. Handle customer inquiries with professionalism via phone etiquette and in-person interactions to promote exceptional service experiences. Conduct interviews for potential new hires, participate in recruiting efforts, and assist with onboarding processes. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, cash handling procedures, and store policies while maintaining a clean and organized retail environment. Qualifications Proven supervisory or managerial experience within the retail industry or grocery store environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and communicate clearly across all levels of staff. Demonstrated expertise in retail math, pricing strategies, sales management, and operational management. Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling procedures, bookkeeping basics, and inventory control techniques. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases. Experience in recruiting, interviewing, training & development is highly desirable. Knowledge of retail industry sales team management practices combined with basic math skills ensures accurate financial transactions and reporting.
