Service Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative

American Leak Detection is looking for a sharp, energetic and dependable Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative to join our San Rafael office. This is not a quiet, one-task-at-a-time office position. Our phones are busy, schedules change throughout the day, technicians need information from the field, and customers expect prompt answers. We need someone who enjoys that pace, can think on their feet, stays organized under pressure, and takes ownership of getting things done. The right person is friendly and professional with customers, but also confident and assertive enough to keep technicians, schedules and follow-ups moving. What You’ll Do Answer and manage a busy multi-line phone environment Speak with customers to understand their plumbing or pool leak concerns Recommend and explain appropriate services and pricing Schedule and dispatch field technicians efficiently Communicate schedule changes, ETAs and job information to customers and technicians Monitor the daily schedule and adjust priorities as conditions change Follow up with customers, technicians and pending jobs Enter accurate customer and job information into our CRM Prepare, edit and process technician field reports Assist with invoicing, payments and accounts-receivable follow-up Respond to customer concerns professionally and help resolve problems Manage multiple calls, emails and tasks without losing track of follow-up What We’re Looking For Prior dispatch, service coordination or high-volume customer service experience strongly preferred Experience in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, restoration, construction, property services or another field-service business is a plus Stable work history Strong verbal communication and a confident, professional phone presence Comfortable being assertive with both customers and field technicians Excellent organization and follow-through Able to prioritize quickly when several urgent matters arise at once Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software Accurate spelling, grammar and data entry Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM Positive, practical problem-solving approach Dependable attendance and punctuality Sense of humor and ability to work well as part of a small team Experience with Jobber or other field-service software is a plus. About American Leak Detection American Leak Detection has provided specialized plumbing and swimming-pool leak detection and repair services in the Bay Area for more than 30 years. Our goal is simple: build trust, relieve customer anxiety, solve problems and provide prompt, professional and courteous service. We operate a busy field-service business, and our office team is central to keeping everything moving. Compensation $26–$29 per hour , depending on directly relevant experience, plus monthly production bonuses.
