Overview As a Service Coordinator, you’ll keep transportation and logistics activities moving by coordinating dispatch, managing service requests, and sharing timely updates with customers and internal teams. You’ll use transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software to support road transportation operations, freight movement, and fleet coordination. Your impact: Accurate dispatching and clear communication help customers receive dependable service while enabling drivers and operations teams to stay coordinated. Duties Coordinate vehicle dispatch and transportation schedules; support transportation planning, fleet management, and shipping and receiving activities. Manage incoming calls on multi-line phone systems, provide responsive customer service, and use professional phone etiquette. Enter and review shipment, service, and dispatch data; use analysis skills to identify issues and support timely resolution. Communicate updates across internal teams, carriers, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners. Use Microsoft Office and transportation management systems, including Oracle Transportation Management, to maintain records and coordinate logistics. Qualifications Strong communication, organizational, typing, and phone communication skills, with experience in phone call management and data entry. Familiarity with road transportation operations, freight, supply chain, logistics, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Experience with transportation management systems, vehicle dispatch software, or dispatching is preferred. Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) tools is a plus. Customer-focused approach and ability to coordinate multiple requests accurately and professionally.
