Vulcan Materials CompanyJob Summary JOB DESCRIPTION Senior level technician responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of diesel engines and related systems. Performs advanced troubleshooting on heavy-duty diesel equipment, ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and provides guidance or mentorship to junior technicians. Maintains detailed service records and communicates effectively with clients and team members to ensure optimal equipment performance. Essential Functions Conduct basic equipment inspections on mobile equipment. Perform service at correct intervals. Demonstrate proper use of equipment manufacturer's software Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors. Perform repairs to address problems when necessary. Obtain/Maintain CDL with Hazmat Endorsement and/or Tanker. Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools in a safe manner throughout the shop and plant. Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed on a daily and monthly basis regarding all mobile equipment. Enter and maintain service reports for all the mobile equipment in written or electronic form. Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Technical Expertise -Solid mechanical understanding of mobile equipment, including basic maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor issues. Ability to identify signs of equipment malfunction, understand and report them to the maintenance team. Responsibilities Education High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Additional vocational/trade school training in a mechanical field is also preferred. Experience Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred. Previous experience with CAT SIS or ET programs highly desired. Additional vocational/trade school training in a mechanical field is also preferred. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Must have sufficient level of education to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature relating to products and vehicles. Must have excellent driving skills and the ability to maintain satisfactory customer and public relations in performance of duties.
