Crawford Thomas RecruitingSENIOR TRANSPORTATION DESIGN ENGINEER / PROJECT MANAGER Location: Indianapolis, IN Work Setup: Onsite Salary: $125,000–$155,000, based on experience Benefits: Comprehensive benefits with 90% of premiums paid by the company Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Relocation: Relocation reimbursement available as needed A well-established civil and transportation engineering firm is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager / Engineer to lead INDOT and Local Public Agency transportation projects from conception through completion. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transportation engineer who combines strong technical roadway design knowledge with project management, team leadership, and financial responsibility. What You'll Do Lead transportation projects from initial planning through final engineering delivery Manage INDOT and Local Public Agency transportation projects Lead and mentor engineers, designers, and technical staff Oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and financial performance Coordinate roadway rehabilitation, intersection improvement, roundabout, drainage, traffic signal, and multi-use path projects Develop and review preliminary and final engineering deliverables Apply INDOT, AASHTO, and applicable engineering standards throughout project delivery Provide technical oversight for roadway and drainage design Coordinate utility-related project requirements Communicate proactively with clients, project stakeholders, and internal teams Evaluate technical challenges and independently develop practical engineering solutions Foster strong collaboration and positive relationships across project teams What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering 10+ years of professional transportation or roadway engineering experience Demonstrated project management and team leadership experience Strong knowledge of INDOT standards, procedures, and specifications Experience delivering INDOT and transportation-focused projects Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D for roadway and drainage design Strong understanding of roadway engineering and transportation design principles Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and engineering deliverables Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to independently evaluate engineering challenges and make sound technical decisions Preferred Local Public Agency project experience Indiana Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within six months Professional Traffic Operations Engineer certification Roundabout design experience Traffic signal design experience Drainage design experience Curb ramp, sidewalk, and multi-use path design experience Utility coordination experience Compensation And Benefits $125,000–$155,000 annual base salary, based on experience Company pays 90% of employee health insurance premiums Life insurance Short-term and long-term disability coverage Health Savings Account option with company match 401(k) with company match and immediate vesting Generous PTO package, including your birthday off Parental leave Flexible work schedule Enhanced Employee Assistance Program Access to an onsite fitness center Annual company outings Relocation reimbursement available as needed ,
