Job Description Join our growing Transportation team and play a key role in delivering impactful highway infrastructure projects across the Southeast. We are seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of mid-sized to large civil highway projects from concept development through final design, construction support, and project closeout. This position offers the opportunity to manage complex transportation projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, build strong client relationships, and contribute to improving mobility and infrastructure throughout the region. This is an excellent opportunity for a transportation professional seeking to advance into a leadership role while managing meaningful highway infrastructure projects across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Responsibilities: Manage mid-sized to large transportation and highway design projects from planning and concept development through construction services. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, agency stakeholders, and project teams. Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and quality objectives. Lead multidisciplinary teams of roadway, drainage, traffic, structural, and environmental professionals. Oversee project delivery to ensure technical excellence, profitability, and client satisfaction. Coordinate with state DOTs, local agencies, municipalities, and other stakeholders throughout project development. Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project objectives. Prepare and review technical proposals, project work plans, and contract documents. Mentor junior engineers and project staff while fostering collaboration and professional growth. Support business development initiatives, including client engagement, proposal preparation, and pursuit strategies. Provide construction phase support, including design clarifications, reviews, and coordination with contractors and owners. Qualifications Minimum Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline and eight (8) years of highway/roadway design experience on transportation infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience. Four years of project management experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license for either SC, NC, or TN states or the ability to obtain through reciprocity Experience managing project budgets, schedules, scopes, and client relationships. Experience in transportation project development and delivery processes. Preferred Experience working with one or more state DOTs, including SCDOT, NCDOT, or TDOT. Proven success managing complex transportation projects from conception through construction. Experience with alternative delivery methods and large-scale transportation programs.
