Role Description The Senior Transportation Planner is a full-time, hybrid position based in Littleton, NH, with flexibility for partial work from home. The role involves leading and managing transportation planning projects, including multimodal corridor studies, regional transportation plans, and safety and mobility analyses. Daily responsibilities include gathering and analyzing transportation and land use data, preparing maps and reports, drafting technical memoranda, and developing recommendations for infrastructure and policy improvements. The Senior Transportation Planner will collaborate with local officials, state agencies, and community stakeholders through meetings, presentations, and public engagement activities. The role also includes preparing grant applications, supporting funding programs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and mentoring junior staff on transportation planning methods and best practices. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Regional Planning and Transportation Planning, including experience with multimodal systems, safety, and mobility initiatives. Knowledge of Land Use and Urban Planning principles, with the ability to integrate transportation considerations into broader community and regional development efforts. Strong Analytical Skills, including data collection, GIS mapping, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and translating findings into clear recommendations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports, grant proposals, and making presentations to diverse audiences. Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with partners, and work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment. Proficiency with relevant software tools (e.g., GIS, MS Office; transportation modeling or data platforms are a plus). Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Transportation, Urban Studies, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field; a master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Familiarity with state and federal transportation planning processes, funding programs, and regulatory requirements is beneficial.
