Your impact We are seeking a Mid-Level to Senior Transportation CADD Technician to join our growing Digital Delivery and Transportation team. The successful candidate will support the development, production, and delivery of transportation infrastructure plans, models, and construction documents for state and local agency projects, including the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and other Departments of Transportation (DOTs). This role requires experience in MicroStation CONNECT Edition and OpenRoads Designer (ORD), as well as experience developing and maintaining transportation models and producing high-quality construction documents in accordance with agency standards. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and update transportation models using OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation CONNECT Edition. Prepare and revise construction plans, profiles, cross sections, details, and quantity summaries for transportation projects. Support the development of roadway, highway, intersection, roundabout, drainage, grading, and utility design deliverables. Process and incorporate survey data, terrain models, and project information into design files and plan sets. Perform CADD production and technical drafting tasks in accordance with WSDOT, DOT, and project-specific standards. Assist in the preparation, organization, and quality review of contract documents and design deliverables. Coordinate with roadway, drainage, utility, structural, environmental, and survey teams to support project delivery. Support project delivery from preliminary design through final plan production. Maintain project files and digital deliverables within ProjectWise and other project management environments. Participate in quality control reviews and support the development of junior drafting and design staff. Here's what you'll need 5+ years of transportation drafting, design production, or CADD experience for mid-level candidates; 10+ years preferred for senior-level candidates. Proficiency with MicroStation CONNECT Edition and OpenRoads Designer (ORD). Experience producing transportation plan sets and construction documents for WSDOT or other state DOT agencies. Strong understanding of transportation drafting standards, plan production workflows, and model-based deliverable development. Experience working with survey data, terrain models, corridor models, and digital design files. Familiarity with roadway geometry, grading, drainage, and utility design concepts. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ideally, you'll also have Experience supporting large-scale transportation infrastructure programs. Proficiency with ProjectWise and DOT workspace standards. Knowledge of digital delivery, model-based workflows, and CADD best practices. Experience mentoring junior designers, drafters, or CADD technicians. Experience developing plan sheets, drafting standards, and production workflows for transportation projects.
