Senior Trade Compliance Analyst
ICON Consultants, LPSenior Trade Compliance Analyst Location: Fully Remote Pay Rate: $50-$53/hour (DOE) Duration: 1 Year Contract W2 only (will not consider C2C, or candidates needing sponsorship) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Trade Compliance Analyst to support U.S. import and export compliance activities across multiple business functions. This role requires a strong background in global trade compliance, customs regulations, export controls, and import/export operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classifications, export controls, and international trade compliance programs. This position is best suited for professionals with 7-10+ years of trade compliance experience in an importer/exporter, customs brokerage, logistics, or international trade environment who can independently manage complex compliance matters and provide guidance across cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Serve as a subject matter expert for U.S. trade compliance regulations, including customs, import/export requirements, and export controls. Provide trade compliance guidance and transaction support for import and export activities. Review and interpret trade regulations and ensure compliance with applicable government requirements. Perform and validate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and country of origin determinations. Ensure import and export transactions comply with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other applicable agencies. Conduct export control reviews, including dual-use determinations and licensing assessments where required. Review import and export documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance. Support duty, tax, and fee calculations, including preferential trade programs and free trade agreements. Manage and evaluate customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other trade service providers. Partner with logistics, procurement, operations, and project teams to resolve compliance-related issues. Support audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives related to trade compliance programs. Perform additional compliance-related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 7-10+ years of experience in: Trade Compliance Import/Export Operations Customs Brokerage International Logistics Global Trade Operations Strong knowledge of: U.S. Customs Regulations (19 CFR) CBP Requirements HTS Classification ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) Country of Origin Determinations Export Administration Regulations (EAR) OFAC Sanctions and Compliance Dual-Use and Export Control Regulations Participating Government Agency (PGA) Requirements Experience managing customs brokers and trade service providers. Ability to research, interpret, and apply complex trade regulations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and database management skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments and stakeholder levels. Preferred Qualifications Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) designation. Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification. Experience supporting multinational import/export operations. Background working with trade compliance software, ERP systems, or customs management platforms.
