Supply Chain Category Manager / Senior Supply Chain Category Manager – Technical Services Location: Dallas, TX – Onsite CornerStone Technology Talent Services (TTS) is partnering with a leading organization to identify an experienced Supply Chain Category Manager / Senior Supply Chain Category Manager – Technical Services to lead strategic sourcing and supplier management across technically complex engineering, infrastructure, and field-service categories. This is not a traditional transactional procurement position. We are seeking a strategic sourcing professional who can operate comfortably at the intersection of supply chain, engineering, operations, risk, and commercial strategy . The ideal candidate understands how to source and negotiate complex technical services where supplier capability, safety, regulatory compliance, service continuity, technical qualifications, and commercial terms are all critical to the purchasing decision. What You’ll Be Responsible For You will own sourcing and category-management activities for a portfolio of technical and professional services that may include: Engineering and consulting services Pipeline and infrastructure services Line locating and damage-prevention services Leak detection and surveying Property and land surveying Inspection and testing services Pipeline integrity services Field-based technical services Specialized engineering and infrastructure contractors You will partner closely with engineering, operations, risk, finance, and other business stakeholders to build sourcing strategies that balance cost, supplier capability, operational reliability, safety, compliance, and long-term business risk . Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Category Management Develop and execute category strategies for complex technical-service spend. Lead competitive sourcing initiatives including RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, bid analysis, and commercial negotiations . Evaluate supplier capabilities beyond price, including technical expertise, capacity, safety performance, operational risk, geographic coverage, and service quality. Build sourcing strategies that support both near-term operational requirements and long-term supplier-market objectives. Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, competitive leverage, cost optimization, and improved service delivery. Contracting & Commercial Negotiations Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, service levels, and contractual provisions with technical-service suppliers. Partner with legal, risk, engineering, and operations stakeholders throughout contract development and negotiation. Evaluate total cost rather than simply hourly rates or unit pricing. Understand how scope, labor availability, equipment, mobilization, geographic coverage, safety requirements, and market conditions affect supplier pricing. Support contract renewals, amendments, extensions, and supplier transitions. Supplier Strategy & Performance Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and technical-services partners. Establish supplier performance expectations and monitor KPIs related to cost, quality, safety, service delivery, responsiveness, and contractual performance. Address supplier-performance concerns and commercial disputes before they impact operations. Support supplier-risk assessments and business-continuity strategies for critical services. Identify alternative suppliers and emerging vendors capable of improving competition or reducing concentration risk. Risk, Compliance & Business Continuity Work with operations and risk teams to identify safety, operational, contractual, regulatory, financial, and supplier-continuity risks . Develop sourcing and supplier strategies designed to mitigate critical-service disruptions. Ensure sourcing activities align with organizational procurement policies and applicable industry requirements.
