Role Description The Senior Supplier Quality & Logistics Specialist oversees supplier quality, logistics, and material readiness throughout the supply chain lifecycle. Responsible for ensuring externally sourced materials, components, and outsourced work arrive complete, compliant, and on schedule, this role provides the quality oversight and operational discipline needed to support efficient production and installation. Through proactive supplier management, quality assurance, inventory control, and freight coordination, the Senior Supplier Quality & Logistics Specialist minimizes rework, reduces supply chain risk, and helps ensure projects are delivered smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities Establish supplier quality standards, inspection requirements, documentation and acceptance criteria for purchased and outsourced items. Review outsourced items, production drawings and relevant instruction manuals to identify quality or execution risks before release and shipment. Conduct or coordinate supplier site visits, in-process spot checks and mid/final progress reviews for critical outsourced work. Track supplier defects, non-conformances, rework and corrective actions; ensure recurring issues are addressed through vendor performance management. Own receiving inspection requirements and coordinate disposition of damaged, incomplete or non-conforming deliveries. Establish and manage inventory controls covering stocking, monitoring, allocation, identification and exception handling. Coordinate freight, shipping and receiving requirements, including logistics-provider evaluation and selection support, distribution coordination and logistics management. Support installation readiness through vendor coordination, site/condition confirmation, documentation, manuals and day-of issue escalation where required. Work closely with Production to ensure externally sourced work is manufacturable, compatible with internal requirements and ready when needed. Provide technical input to vendor qualification and scorecards, particularly for quality, workmanship, reliability and production capability. Maintain quality and logistics metrics and proactively identify recurring failure points across vendors and projects. Authority to hold, reject or escalate non-conforming supplier product pending appropriate disposition. Accountable for supplier-quality inspection standards, receiving controls and quality issue documentation. Accountable for visibility of freight, receiving, inventory and installation-readiness risks. Provides technical/quality recommendation on vendor qualification and continued approved-vendor status. Partners with Production on technical and quality acceptance while maintaining clear separation between supplier commercial ownership and supplier quality oversight. Experience & Qualifications 5+ years of supplier quality, manufacturing quality, production, logistics, technical operations or procurement experience. Hands-on understanding of fabricated/custom products, outsourced manufacturing and production quality requirements. Ability to interpret production drawings, specifications, BOMs and workmanship standards. Experience with receiving inspection, root-cause analysis, corrective actions and supplier-quality processes.
