Summary A well-established industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking a Senior Subcontract Manager to oversee outside fabrication partners and suppliers supporting complex engineered equipment projects. This position works closely with engineering, procurement, quality, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure subcontracted work is completed to specification, schedule, quality, and cost requirements. This is a strong fit for someone with experience managing subcontractors or suppliers within heavy manufacturing, power generation, pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, or similar industrial fabrication environments. Key Responsibilities Manage subcontracted manufacturing and fabrication activities from award through final delivery Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned subcontractors and suppliers Track engineering, material procurement, fabrication, testing, inspections, and shipment milestones Review subcontractor schedules, costs, quality requirements, and project documentation Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, quality, and project management teams Monitor vendor performance and address schedule, quality, or production issues Support supplier qualification and subcontractor development as needed Review technical drawings, specifications, and fabrication requirements Ensure subcontracted work meets applicable quality and industry standards Travel to domestic and international subcontractor facilities for project oversight, inspections, and coordination Requirements 5+ years of subcontract management, supplier management, procurement, or project management experience Background in heavy industrial manufacturing or engineered equipment strongly preferred Experience with pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, power generation equipment, or similar fabrication highly preferred Working knowledge of ASME codes and standards strongly preferred Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Strong vendor management, scheduling, and problem-solving skills Comfortable managing multiple subcontractors and projects simultaneously 50%+ travel Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant industry experience Compensation & Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan Paid holidays and PTO Company-paid business travel / travel expenses Career growth within a larger family of energy and industrial companies
