About the Opportunity: The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER role on the Global Forwarding team involves designing and delivering scalable software solutions that support modernization and automation initiatives. This position leads technical innovation, influences engineering processes, and mentors engineers while developing AI-enabled tools to automate knowledge work and enhance decision-making throughout the shipment lifecycle. Responsibilities: Lead design and development of scalable software solutions for Global Forwarding Translate complex business needs into technical solutions across pricing, contracts, planning, booking, and operations Design AI-enabled automation for repetitive and complex tasks Identify and apply AI technologies such as large language models and intelligent agents Develop workflows that interpret unstructured data and appropriately escalate exceptions Establish reliable enterprise AI patterns including security and auditability Rapidly prototype and evolve AI technologies into production Define interfaces and develop code across multiple platforms and services Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to improve workflows Design for high-volume, resilient, and low-touch operational environments Build integrations with internal platforms, external partners, and messaging systems Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and domains Enhance code quality through reviews and best practices Optimize existing capabilities for better performance and scalability Identify and resolve risks related to performance, reliability, and security Incorporate security, privacy, and data governance in solutions Maintain technical documentation and reusable engineering patterns Estimate software initiatives including scope, effort, and technical risks Stay informed on emerging technologies and identify valuable applications Mentor and coach software engineers in technical skills and leadership Collaborate with leadership to resolve complex issues and deliver quality software Work across teams to strengthen shared platforms and technology ecosystems Requirements: 8+ years of commercial software development experience Strong skills in object-oriented design and development (e.g., C#, .NET) Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and integrations Proficiency with relational databases including schema design and performance tuning Knowledge of non-relational databases and modern data storage patterns Experience with HTTP, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing Skilled in unit, integration, acceptance, and automated testing Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, TFS) Experience with CI/CD and modern software delivery practices Proven ability to solve complex technical problems across systems and teams Pay Range and Compensation Package: The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
