Essential Functions
• This position has no supervisor authority over Shipping & Receiving Clerk
• With or without reasonable accommodations the incumbent must be able to read and write and speak the English language at a college level, be capable of performing sometimes complex mathematical calculations, statistical calculations and other higher mathematical operations, must be able to communicate with all levels of the institution in written and spoken form. The individual must be able to work independently. The ability to maintain regular and prompt attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Other Duties & Responsibilites
• Receives, examines, and documents incoming freight and parcels; reconciles with purchasing and shipping records according to established procedures.
• Arranges for outgoing freight and returns of damages or misdirected freight; handles freight claims for damaged or shorted goods.
• Prepared numeric and narrative, oral and written reports and various control documents.
• Maintains a safe working environment within and around their facilities and associated equipment andsupplies including, but not limited to, obtaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information pertaining to any hazards associated with their work environment.
• Participate in safety training and comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocols.
• Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
• Supports and assists in creating intersections and pathways for faculty, staff, and students that will assist in transforming people’s lives.
• Supports and assists in creating an evolving culture of connection, mentoring and rich engagement opportunities for faculty, staff, and students.

Property Control
• Reviews incoming shipments for equipment items, according to established NY State and Alfred Universityprocedures.
• Tags equipment, compiles and enters data to PCS; edits reports.
• Follows up on outstanding items (Incoming Asset Log, purchase orders, trade-ins, and repairs).
• Makes changes to the database as necessary to maintain accurate and up-to-date records (location changes,transfers, changes in condition, etc.).
• Maintains records as necessary in compliance with State Fixed Asset Accounting System (SFAAS); conducts biannual inspection.
• Processes surplus items as warranted and according to established procedures.
• Conducts inventory of NY State College of Ceramics equipment using bar-code scanner or equivalent:
