Position Summary ACP Composites’ Senior Shipping and Receiving Specialist is a senior, hands-on individual contributor responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant inbound and outbound operations. The role serves as the departmental subject matter expert for complex freight, international shipments, custom packaging, ERP transactions, discrepancy resolution, and shipping-related training. This position provides technical guidance but does not have supervisory authority. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain accurate, complete, and traceable inbound, outbound, inventory, and ERP transactions, ensuring physical materials, quantities, documentation, and system records remain aligned. Oversee receiving, returns, and RMA control, including material verification, ERP entry, discrepancy identification, segregation of affected material, and coordination of resolution with Purchasing, Quality, suppliers, carriers, or other relevant parties. Manage outbound order fulfillment and freight coordination, including shipment verification, customer-specific requirements, packaging, labeling, routing, carrier accounts, delivery requirements, eCommerce fulfillment, carrier quotes, pickup scheduling, shipment-status communication, and freight issue resolution. Serve as the subject matter expert for international, customs, HAZMAT, and export-controlled shipments; prepare required documentation using approved processes, identify missing or conflicting information, and obtain required approvals before release. Develop, modify, and execute packaging, preservation, and load-securing solutions based on product characteristics, destination, carrier requirements, and method of transport. Support inventory integrity by investigating discrepancies, identifying root causes, correcting routine ERP transaction errors through approved methods, and participating in physical inventories and cycle counts. Maintain organized and retrievable records, including transaction paperwork, carrier documents, certificates of conformance, HAZMAT documents, export-control documents, and other required records. Perform material-handling and local transportation responsibilities safely, including loading, unloading, moving, securing, protecting, and documenting materials using approved equipment and company vehicles. Provide technical guidance, hands-on training, and cross-training to employees and designated backup personnel on all shipping functions. Evaluate shipping and receiving procedures, work instructions, forms, training materials, methods, and workflows; recommend improvements that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, control, and error prevention. Maintain a clean, organized, adequately supplied, and safe work area; follow company safety requirements and promptly report incidents, unsafe conditions, or safety concerns. Perform additional job-related duties and support other departments as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum five years of progressively responsible, hands-on shipping and receiving experience, including at least two years handling complex freight, international shipments, custom packaging, and freight coordination. Proficiency and accuracy with ERP-based shipping, receiving, inventory, return, and transaction-correction activities. Experience with Acumatica or a comparable ERP system preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, carrier portals, freight-provider systems, and other shipping and receiving applications. Working knowledge of domestic, international, LTL, truckload, expedited, HAZMAT, customs, and export-controlled shipments, including documentation, freight coordination, packaging, preservation, and load securement.
