Senior SAP Functional Solution Architect / Solution Lead Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Edmonds 13 Employment type: Permanent Region: Lower Mainland Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid Annual salary: $ 131,100.00 - 165,800.00 Position Highlights As a Senior SAP Functional Solution Architect, you will be the functional design authority for BC Hydro’s SAP landscape across your assigned business capabilities. You will understand how BC Hydro’s end-to-end business processes run in SAP, shape where the solution needs to go next, and turn that direction into practical, deliverable roadmaps. You will lead functional solution design and fit-to-standard decisions for complex, cross-module initiatives on RISE with SAP S/4HANA, SAP for Utilities (IS-U/FI-CA), SAP SuccessFactors, SAP BTP and SAP Business Data Cloud, and other solutions. You will make sure that what is built is close to standard, well integrated across modules, and positioned to take advantage of SAP’s latest innovations, including SAP Business AI and Joule. Within BC Hydro’s capability-led, product-based Technology operating model, you will be a trusted advisor to business leaders, Service Line Managers, Business Capability Leads and Product Owners. You will give direction to SAP functional consultants, the Application Managed Service (AMS) provider and system integrator teams. This role is for someone who combines broad SAP functional depth with strong business relationships and a proven track record of moving decisions and delivery forward. You will focus on assigned business capabilities / SAP process areas, e.g., Finance, Customer & Billing, Supply Chain, Asset Management, HR, and the platform overall. What you'll do SAP Solutions Lead – Functional Act as functional design authority for assigned SAP process areas (Finance, Supply Chain, Asset Management, Customer & Billing, HR), owning end-to-end process design and cross-module integrations. Lead fit-to-standard workshops, favouring SAP standard and clean-core principles over customization. Present design options to the Architecture Review Board, ensuring compliance with security, privacy (FOIPPA), audit and regulatory requirements. Assess solution health, including custom code, technical debt and adoption gaps, and recommend remediation. Build multi-year functional roadmaps that link business priorities with SAP innovation, including S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, BTP and Business AI/Joule. Identify AI and automation use cases, support business cases with licensing and cost implications, and lead Proofs of Concept. Partner with business leaders and Product Owners to translate priorities into SAP solution direction and drive clear, timely decisions. Drive delivery from design through cutover and stabilization, and serve as the escalation point for functional design disputes. Hold AMS and system integrator partners accountable for quality, value and long-term sustainability.
