Senior Project Planner Scheduler

Job Profile Summary The Senior Project Planner Scheduler is a key member of the project controls team responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules and project controls across multiple complex infrastructure and power quality projects. This role ensures effective planning and reporting to support project delivery, while providing strategic insight, risk analysis, and guidance to project leadership. Main Accountabilities Develop and maintain detailed Level 1–4 schedules using Primavera P6 (or similar planning tools), ensuring alignment with project objectives, contractual requirements, and critical path. Lead planning and scheduling activities across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup phases. Provide earned value management (EVM) analysis, performance measurement, and project forecasting support. Integrate cost and schedule data to support comprehensive project progress and performance reporting. Identify schedule risks and opportunities, perform scenario analysis, and recommend mitigation strategies. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to capture accurate status updates and changes. Prepare and present project controls reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to senior stakeholders. Support change management and claims analysis through schedule impact assessments and time impact analysis (TIA). Ensure schedule data integrity, quality, and governance in line with organizational standards. Mentor and support junior planners and schedulers in planning best practices and tools. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 6–10 years of experience in project planning and controls, preferably in the energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors. Highly proficient in Primavera P6 and working knowledge of MS Project and other project controls specific software (e.g., Deltek Acumen, Excel, Power BI). Strong understanding of critical path method (CPM), earned value analysis (EVA), and schedule risk analysis. Demonstrated ability to manage schedules on multi-million-dollar projects with complex interfaces. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment. PMP-SP, PSP (AACE), or similar certification preferred. Must-Have Requirements Industry experience: Project planning/scheduling on one or more of the following, or closely related infrastructure: Substations Transmission Power quality Data centers Primavera P6: Advanced, hands-on P6 experience building, maintaining, and updating project schedules. P6 is a core requirement, not a "nice to have." Experience level: About 6–10 years of relevant project-planning experience, with flexibility for candidates whose experience is especially strong. Level of work: Able to work at a mid-to-senior level in a complex project environment. Notes: Hybrid (Three days per week in the office).
