Job Type: Full-Time | Salaried

Lead Manufacturing Planning. Optimize Materials. Drive Results.

American Made Solutions is recruiting an experienced Senior Production Planning & Materials Manager for an established manufacturing operation in Carrollton, Georgia.

We're searching for a proven manufacturing leader who understands how to turn customer demand into executable production schedules while ensuring the right materials, resources, and capacity are available to keep operations moving.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone who has successfully managed production planning, materials management, inventory, and scheduling within a complex manufacturing environment.

We're looking for someone who has actually led production planning and materials operations inside a manufacturing facility—not someone whose experience is limited to purchasing, logistics, or corporate-level forecasting.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Production Planning & Manufacturing Execution

  • Lead production planning, scheduling, and materials coordination for manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and manage master production schedules that align customer demand with available manufacturing capacity.
  • Coordinate production requirements across equipment, labor, materials, and inventory.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts, production bottlenecks, and capacity limitations before they disrupt operations.
  • Work closely with plant leadership to establish realistic production priorities and improve schedule performance.
  • Respond to changing customer requirements, production demands, and operational challenges.

Materials Management & Inventory Control

  • Oversee material requirements planning (MRP) to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure raw materials, components, and production supplies are available when needed.
  • Identify potential shortages and coordinate solutions with procurement and supply chain teams.
  • Improve inventory accuracy, inventory turns, and material availability.
  • Develop strategies to reduce excess inventory, obsolete materials, and unnecessary working capital.
  • Support efficient material flow throughout the manufacturing process.

ERP Systems & Operational Improvement

  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage production requirements, material planning, and scheduling accuracy.
  • Improve planning processes, system reliability, and data accuracy.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop reporting that provides visibility into production schedules, inventory, shortages, and operational risks.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning efficiency, material utilization, and manufacturing performance.
  • Participate in sales and operations planning (S&OP) and related production forecasting activities.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead, coach, and develop production planners, schedulers, materials professionals, and related personnel.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability across planning functions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, engineering, quality, logistics, and supply chain leadership.
  • Coordinate responses to supply disruptions, production changes, and shifting customer priorities.
  • Partner with senior leadership on capacity planning, operational strategy, and long-term manufacturing improvements.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Logistics, or a related discipline. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 5–7+ years of progressive experience in production planning, manufacturing scheduling, production control, or materials management.
  • Significant hands-on experience working directly within a manufacturing facility.
  • Proven responsibility for developing and executing production schedules in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of material requirements planning (MRP), inventory management, and manufacturing capacity planning.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Infor, Epicor, Plex, QAD, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable manufacturing platforms.
  • Previous leadership experience managing production planning, scheduling, materials, or related teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve material shortages, production constraints, and scheduling challenges.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with SAP in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in complex, multi-stage, high-mix, or material-intensive manufacturing operations.
  • Background supporting multiple production lines, product families, or manufacturing locations.
  • Knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Integrated Business Planning (IBP), or related planning processes.
  • APICS/ASCM certifications such as CPIM or CSCP.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience with make-to-order, make-to-stock, or engineer-to-order manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated success improving production schedule adherence, inventory performance, and material availability.

Manufacturing Experience We're Interested In

Candidates with production planning and materials leadership experience in the following industries are encouraged to apply:

  • Industrial equipment and machinery manufacturing
  • Electrical equipment, electronics, and cable manufacturing
  • Automotive and aerospace manufacturing
  • Metal fabrication and engineered products
  • Plastics, packaging, and specialty materials
  • Medical devices and other complex manufacturing environments

Experience in a complex manufacturing operation is more important than experience in one specific industry.

Compensation & Opportunity

Annual Salary: $130,000–$150,000

Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, technical expertise, and leadership qualifications.
