Senior Operations Manager

Senior Operations Manager | Carson, CA FWT Logistics is a motor carrier and 3PL offering drayage and warehousing services, with locations in Oakland and Carson, CA. Our Carson building is minutes from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and supports customers with storage, transload, and distribution. We’re hiring a Senior Operations Manager to lead our Carson facility. You’ll lead the team, own safety, accuracy, and productivity, and deliver for multiple 3PL accounts, working closely with our transportation team to keep port freight moving. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows a port-area warehouse and can build the systems and team to grow it. What you’ll do Run daily operations: receiving, putaway, storage, picking, shipping, and returns Manage container transload, devanning, and cross-dock for port freight Partner with the Transportation Manager on container appointments, unload priorities, and dock scheduling Hire, train, schedule, and coach supervisors, leads, and associates Keep the building compliant with Cal/OSHA, including IIPP, workplace violence prevention, heat illness prevention, and forklift certification Own inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and the WMS Track and report KPIs: on time shipping, dock to stock, order and inventory accuracy, labor productivity, and safety Serve as the operational contact for 3PL customers and lead new account onboarding Manage the building’s labor and operating budget, equipment, and vendors What you bring 5+ years in warehouse or distribution center operations 2+ years managing supervisors or hourly teams in a multi-shift or high-volume building 3PL experience managing multiple customer accounts Hands-on WMS and inventory control experience Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA Track record improving KPIs and managing a budget Strong Excel and reporting skills Able to work onsite in Carson with flexibility for early, late, and weekend coverage Nice to have Regional or multisite warehouse operations experience Port area transload experience and experience working with drayage teams Bilingual English and Spanish OSHA 30 and forklift certification Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or business Pay and benefits Salary: $85,600 to $110,000 per year, based on experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with 85% of employee coverage paid by FWT 10 days of PTO per year Physical requirements Stand and walk the warehouse floor and yard for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and work around forklifts, trucks, and containers.
