Position: Senior Operations Manager – Transportation (Supply Chain/Logistics) Location: Hopewell Junction, NY Additional Locations Supported: Swedesboro, NJ and Glen Burnie, MD Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility for after-hours, overnight-route and occasional Saturday requirements Travel: Approximately 50%, including regular overnight travel Salary: $150k/yr with full benefits Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead a complex, multi-site transportation and logistics operation supporting three major automotive customers across the Northeast. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity responsible for operational performance, customer relationships, people leadership, financial results and continuous improvement across multiple locations. The successful candidate will lead a team of Operations Managers and a large driver and dock workforce while ensuring consistent service, safety, accountability and financial performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on transportation leader who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, develop strong leaders, analyze operational data, solve complex problems and drive results across a geographically dispersed network. Key Responsibilities Operations Leadership Provide overall leadership for transportation operations across three customer locations. Lead and develop three Operations Managers and a large workforce of drivers, dock associates and administrative personnel. Establish clear operating standards, expectations and accountability across all locations. Maintain strong operational visibility by regularly visiting facilities, observing execution and engaging directly with drivers and frontline teams. Ensure safe, efficient and compliant transportation operations. Coordinate resources, staffing, equipment and transportation capacity to meet customer and network requirements. Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions before they impact customer service. Customer Relationship Management Serve as a senior operational point of contact for key customers and dealer networks. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication, responsiveness and service recovery. Resolve escalated customer issues and develop sustainable corrective action plans. Rebuild and strengthen customer confidence through transparency, accountability and consistent execution. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve service issues that may originate outside the direct reporting structure. Performance & KPI Management Own key operational metrics including on-time delivery, scanning compliance, service performance and operating efficiency. Validate the accuracy and integrity of operational reporting and establish reliable performance baselines. Analyze trends and root causes to identify opportunities for improvement. Develop and execute structured corrective-action and continuous-improvement plans. Establish a culture of fact-based decision-making and accountability. Monitor performance consistently across all three operating environments. Financial & P&L Management Own and manage the financial performance of the operation. Develop and manage operating budgets, forecasts and financial plans. Monitor labor, transportation, brokerage and other operating expenses. Identify cost-reduction opportunities while protecting service quality and customer commitments. Connect operational decisions to financial performance and profitability. Partner with Finance and other functional leaders to improve overall business results. Leadership & Team Development Develop, coach and hold Operations Managers accountable for performance.
