Senior Non-Ferrous Metal Buyer

We are looking for an experienced Non-Ferrous Metal Buyer who understands the scrap-metal market, has an established industry network, and is ready to play a key role in growing our sourcing and purchasing operations. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, negotiating deals, following market trends, and making decisions in a fast-moving commodities environment. Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and expand strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and industry partners. Purchase and source non-ferrous scrap metals from domestic and international suppliers. Identify and develop new sources of non-ferrous scrap to support company growth. Negotiate pricing and purchasing agreements while building long-term, mutually beneficial business relationships. Monitor and analyze non-ferrous metals market trends, pricing, and market dynamics. Work closely with internal teams to develop and execute strategic sourcing and sales plans. Travel as needed to meet with suppliers, customers, and industry partners and strengthen business relationships. Stay informed on industry developments and utilize key commodities-market tools and strategies, including terminal markets, swaps, tolling, formula pricing, and hedging. Evaluate market conditions and make timely purchasing decisions based on changing supply, demand, and pricing. Qualifications An established professional network of suppliers and/or customers within the non-ferrous metals industry. 5+ years (Senior Buyer) or +3 years (Buyer) of successful experience in the non-ferrous scrap-metal industry. Strong understanding of non-ferrous scrap markets, pricing, and industry dynamics. Proven negotiation and relationship-building skills. Ability to analyze information quickly, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced market environment. Strong business judgment and the ability to identify opportunities for growth. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels. Ability to build productive relationships both internally and externally. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and drive results.
