Senior Manager, Supply Chain Planning Position Summary The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Planning is responsible for leading supply chain, product flow and distribution planning across the retail network. This role will develop and manage product flow plans that align inventory availability, distribution center capacity, labor resources, vendor performance, merchandising priorities and financial objectives. The Senior Manager will serve as a key connector between Distribution Center Operations, Buying & Merchandising, Finance and the vendor community to ensure alignment and visibility to product flow and life cycle from PO creation to Store. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, operational understanding, cross-functional collaboration and the ability to translate business requirements into actionable plans for the distribution network. Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Planning Lead the planning of product flows across the retail supply chain, including inbound, distribution center processing, inventory positioning and outbound store requirements. Develop short and long-term product flow plans based on sales forecasts, merchandising strategies, inventory requirements, vendor commitments and distribution center capacity. Identify potential capacity, inventory, labor, and service risks and develop proactive mitigation plans. Establish planning processes, tools, and reporting to improve visibility and enable proper staffing levels in the distribution network. Analyze historical trends, current performance, and future demand to continuously improve planning accuracy and network efficiency. Distribution Center Flow & Resource Planning Partner closely with Distribution Center leadership to translate product flow forecasts into operational plans. Develop resource requirements across inbound receiving, processing, packing, stocking and outbound operations. Align expected volume with staffing levels, labor capacity, equipment requirements and operating schedules. Monitor actual versus planned volumes and resources and adjust plans as business conditions change. Establish and manage key operational metrics, including units per hour (UPH), staffing levels, throughput, capacity utilization, service levels and budget adherence. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, capacity utilization and overall distribution center efficiency. Buying, Merchandising & Vendor Partnerships Develop strong partnerships with Buying and Merchandising to understand assortment, promotional activity, product launches, seasonal requirements and changes in demand. Coordinate product flow plans with merchandising strategies and inventory objectives. Partner with vendors and the vendor compliance team to improve visibility to purchase orders, inbound volumes, lead times, shipment timing and potential supply constraints. Financial Planning & Performance Partner with the DC Leadership Team and Finance to develop distribution center and transportation budgets based on forecasted volumes, labor requirements, capacity and operating plans. Translate operational forecasts into financial requirements and budget assumptions. Monitor actual performance against budget and identify drivers of variances. Provide regular reporting and insights to Supply Chain and Finance leadership regarding volume, labor, productivity and cost performance. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related quantitative field. Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in supply chain, distribution, or logistics planning within a retail or multi-site network environment. Location & Travel: Corporate, on-site role based in Troy, Michigan with approximately 15% travel required. Operational Expertise: Practical understanding of DC operations, inbound/outbound flow optimization, labor scheduling, and facility capacity modeling.
